Qatar Cargo will add its capacity to two more online booking portals as it continues efforts to expand its digital capabilities.

The cargo business will place its capacity on cargo.one and CargoAi.

Qatar Airways Cargo’s capacity will be available for booking on CargoAi as of October 10, starting with 10 key European countries and finishing with a worldwide launch by October 24.

CargoAi said its users can book a cross-section of general products, shown with real-time rates and space, and receive immediate booking confirmation.

CargoAi chief executive Matthieu Petot said: “With the world’s current number one cargo airline joining our online marketplace, CargoAi gains a significant increase in global market offer.

“Qatar Airways Cargo has a strong digital focus and very clear ideas on how the future air cargo industry should look. This makes for a highly interesting partnership and one that will without a doubt bring additional benefits to our ever-increasing international customer base.”

Cargo.one said that the launch of Qatar Airways Cargo facilitates 2,000 completely new origin and destination pairs, and 3,000 additional flights per month.

Moritz Claussen, founder and co-chief executive of cargo.one, added: “Our launch of Qatar Airways Cargo capacities is a significant milestone in cargo.one always delivering the best possible level of choice to freight forwarders.

“We are honored to be recognised as an important distribution channel within the airline’s omni-channel strategy.”

The carrier currently offers customers more than 60 dedicated freighter destinations and over 150 passenger destinations.

Its fleet numbers more than 250 aircraft, including 32 freighters. Last year, the carrier was the second largest cargo in terms of traffic.

The addition of CargoAi and cargo.one is not the carrier’s first foray into online booking. Last year, the airline added its capacity to the WebCargo platform.

Yesterday, Qatar Cargo announced a revamped cargo customer portal called Digital Lounge.
