Quark Expeditions guests sailing during the 2023-24 Antarctic and 2024 Arctic seasons have raised $248,000 through onboard auctions, benefiting the company’s polar conservation partners. Additionally, Quark contributed $340,000 in in-kind donations to support research and preservation efforts in polar regions.

The funds support organizations including the Blue Marine Foundation, Centro ICEA, Ilisaqsivik, the Mouse Free Marion Project, the Proctor Foundation, Seabird Watch & Penguin Watch, the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust, and the South Georgia Heritage Trust.

Onboard auctions allow travelers to bid on unique items like personalized voyage maps and ship flags, as well as experiences such as making the morning wake-up announcement, providing guests with memorable ways to support vital conservation initiatives.

Several partners will join Quark Expeditions’ upcoming sailings this season. For instance, Penguin Watch will participate in World Explorer voyages from December 5 to January 6, while Centro ICEA will join the Ultramarine’s “Essential Patagonia” sailing on March 13, 2024.

These partnerships and initiatives highlight Quark Expeditions’ ongoing commitment to preserving fragile polar ecosystems and engaging its guests in meaningful contributions to conservation. Through innovative fundraising and collaboration, Quark continues to lead in sustainable polar exploration.
