Florida-based Rayan Air has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) to establish a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility at Bahrain International Airport. The agreement was formalized during the Bahrain International Airshow 2024.

Rayan Air President and Chief Pilot Captain Hani Shamsan stated that the facility will address the rising demand for cost-effective MRO services in the Middle East. “Our focus will be on delivering specialized maintenance solutions for A320 and B737 fleets, targeting airlines in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the broader region,” Shamsan said.

BAC CEO Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah emphasized the importance of the collaboration in advancing Bahrain’s aviation sector. “This partnership marks a significant step in our efforts to enhance Bahrain’s aviation infrastructure and services,” he remarked.

Rayan Air currently operates a mixed fleet of business jets, including three Challenger 850LRs based in the United States, three stationed in Bahrain, a Challenger 601-3A serving Africa, and a Hawker 400 based in Saudi Arabia.

The planned MRO facility aligns with Bahrain International Airport’s strategy to boost its regional standing as a hub for aviation services, providing airlines with reliable and specialized maintenance solutions.
