Recaro Aircraft Seating highlights sustainability and innovation at AIX
Recaro Aircraft Seating is showcasing multiple innovative products at AIX again this year, as well as showcasing its latest sustainability initiatives.
The latest addition to its portfolio, the PL3810 premium class seat, will also be on show. Recaro says the new seat sets the benchmark for premium travel and embraces premium and space, enhancing the passenger journey for premium class travellers.
Just some of the features include a single-plate table, 4.5-inch centre armrest, a six-way adjustable headrest, a nine-inch recline with articulation and a calf rest. Privacy wings further enhance the living space and tie back to the need for passengers to own their space. The seat is also 10% lighter than its predecessor.
The seating manufacturer’s Innovation Station will feature a combination of smart technology and sustainability initiatives. One of these, the “R Horizon” concept, features a business class seat with integrated smart cabin technology, which can be experienced and tried first hand by booth guests. The R Horizon is outfitted with a new trim and finish of wood and marble and created in collaboration with partners from various industries such as Panasonic Avionics.
Recaro seats receive a rigorous life cycle assessment, an extensive process used to build more environmentally friendly products, end to end. Built as a result of a recent life cycle assessment, the company’s “R Sphere” seat concept was created with lightweight and recyclable materials such as cork, wood, fishing nets and cactus.
The newest version of the SPRINT seat will also be featured, which is a major part of the customer service offerings at Recaro. The bestselling seat gives airlines an eight-week turnaround period between order and delivery and has generated significant interest, especially with leasing airlines.
“With each seat order we receive, from economy to business class, Recaro is tasked with helping airlines build a better passenger experience,” said Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO of Recaro Aircraft Seating and Recaro Holding.
“AIX is an important part of that process, as we greatly value the feedback on our seats that we receive from our partners, customers and suppliers. I look forward to an intensive and insightful show for Recaro.”
