Rex Adds New Adelaide to Sydney Route
Australian regional airline Rex has announced it will launch flights between Adelaide and Sydney from 29 June. This will be the regional carrier’s eighth domestic route, and flights will operate on a daily basis.
Adelaide, also known as the ‘City of Churches’, already forms part of Rex’s domestic regional network, as the airline has operated domestic services to the city from Melbourne since March 2021.
The flights will be operated by Rex’s Boeing 737-800NGs, with the new route made possible due to the arrival of two additional Boeing 737-800NGs, boosting the Australian regional carrier’s fleet to nine of the type.
The launch of this route will also unlock further connections between Adelaide and Brisbane, and regional New South Wales and Adelaide via Sydney. More routes were also hinted to be launched shortly.
Rex Deputy Chairman, John Sharp, said: “This new route brings us one step closer to our ambition to fly between every capital city in Australia. […] I would particularly like to thank Adelaide Airport for its cooperative approach, forward-thinking and ongoing support, without which we would not have been able to launch this new route.”
