Sir Richard Branson, the visionary behind the Virgin Group, has embraced a new role as “wedding officiant of the seas” to celebrate Virgin Voyages’ 50+ year milestone. Branson officiated a series of weddings across the Virgin Voyages fleet, marking a unique and memorable way to honor the cruise line’s rich history.

Starting in fall 2024, Virgin Voyages will offer couples the chance to book their dream wedding at sea, with ceremonies available from April 2025 onward. Whether tying the knot, celebrating an engagement, honeymoon, or vow renewal, guests can choose from stunning locations and three curated wedding packages designed to make planning effortless and enjoyable.

From the stunning blue roofs of Santorini to the pristine waters of Bimini, Virgin Voyages offers a range of breathtaking backdrops for the perfect “something blue.” The dedicated Virgin Voyages “I do” crew aims to ensure that every wedding is smooth sailing, allowing couples to fully immerse themselves in their special day.

During the recent Celebrations Voyages, Branson helped three couples celebrate their nuptials:

  1. A Dominican Wedding Daze: In Puerto Plata, Ben and Emma, who met on a dating app and got engaged in Las Vegas, exchanged vows on The Perch aboard the Valiant Lady. As avid Virgin Voyages fans, having Branson officiate was a dream come true for them.
  2. At the Altar in Amsterdam: Crew members Alejandra and Matias, who met in 2018 and got engaged on the Resilient Lady in Santorini, celebrated their sunset wedding on the Scarlet Lady. Alejandra, who started with Virgin Voyages on Valentine’s Day, and Matias danced the night away at The Manor.
  3. Sunset Ceremonies in Spain: Danny and Brittany, who have been together for seven years, tied the knot against the backdrop of Ibiza’s sunset and rocky cliffs. They surprised Branson with the news of their upcoming addition to the family.

Couples interested in tying the knot with Virgin Voyages can find more information and submit their interest through the Virgin Voyages website.
