Rise Air Moves Medevac Operations to Saskatoon Amid Wildfires

Rise Air has temporarily relocated its medevac services from La Ronge to Saskatoon starting June 3, due to the ongoing wildfires affecting Saskatchewan. The move allows the airline to maintain critical air ambulance services while ensuring the safety of its crews and aircraft. Some maintenance staff have also relocated to Saskatoon, while others have been reassigned to Prince Albert.
The airline confirmed that its workforce transportation and charter operations outside the La Ronge area remain unaffected by the wildfires. Rise Air plans to return operations to La Ronge as soon as the evacuation order is lifted, with a clean-up crew prepared to restore the base for service resumption.
Rise Air operates a diverse fleet that includes three ATR42-300s, one ATR42-320, one ATR42-500(QC), four DHC-6-200s, two DHC-6-300s, one Saab 340A(QC), and two Saab 340Bs. Additionally, its fleet features four Beech 1900Ds, eight Beech King Airs, one DHC-2, one Piper PA-31, and one Bell 205 helicopter, according to ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data.
The Saskatchewan-based carrier provides a range of services including medevac flights, charter operations, and workforce transportation across northern Canada. The temporary move ensures uninterrupted medevac availability during the wildfire crisis while protecting personnel and equipment from hazardous conditions near La Ronge.
