Romania’s Carpatair to induct maiden A319 in 4Q21
Carpatair (V3, Timisoara) plans to induct its recently acquired A319-100 into service by the end of 2021, Romania’s BoardingPass.ro has reported.
The Romanian ACMI/charter specialist acquired LZ-DBH (msn 3041), a 14.7-year-old aircraft, from lessor DAE Capital in mid-2021. It ferried the aircraft for storage to Arad on May 6, 2021, and has kept it parked at the airport since then. On October 24, it reactivated the Airbus narrowbody and ferried it for pre-induction maintenance at Ostrava airport, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows.
The aircraft will become YR-ABA once redelivered to Romania. Carpatair has yet to confirm its commercial plans for the A319 whose induction is currently scheduled for December 2021.
The airline’s present fleet comprises two Fokker 100s. While it had planned to replace the ageing Fokker Aircraft with newer ex-Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras E195s, it abandoned these ambitions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
