Romania’s My Jet Plans Foreign Base, Targets Fleet Expansion

Romania’s My Jet (MYJ, Bucharest Baneasa) is preparing to open its first foreign base in 2025, with details to be announced later, company president Valentin Vișoiu told Profit.ro. The business jet operator also aims to expand its managed fleet by one to two aircraft annually, focusing on growth in Romania and Europe.

“We are monitoring market trends but have no acquisition plans for 2025 yet,” Vișoiu stated.

My Jet currently operates seven aircraft, including a Citation Jet 1, Citation Jet 2+, Citation XLS+, Gulfstream G200, HondaJet APMG, Phenom 300E, and Vision Jet G2, managing them for Romania’s wealthiest entrepreneurs.

Based at Bucharest Baneasa Airport, My Jet began self-handling operations last year. However, Vișoiu raised concerns over poor coordination between commercial and private flights, leading to passenger discomfort and boarding delays.

“Baneasa was not designed to handle both VIP and commercial traffic simultaneously,” he explained. The airport is currently undergoing upgrades as it prepares to host Wizz Air’s new base from April 1, 2025.

According to ch-aviation, while most of My Jet’s fleet is based at Baneasa, the Citation Jet 2+ operates from Sofia, Bulgaria, and the Phenom 300E from Bacau, Romania.

With strategic expansion and steady fleet growth, My Jet is strengthening its position in Romania’s private aviation market while eyeing international opportunities.
