Routes World Awards 2025 Finalists Revealed

After a six-week voting period, the finalists for the 2025 Routes World Awards have been announced, recognizing excellence in route development marketing and individual contributions to the aviation industry. A total of 30 organizations and 10 individuals have been shortlisted across multiple categories. Finalists will now submit supporting materials to be reviewed by a panel of airline and editorial judges. Winners will be unveiled during the Routes World Networking Evening in Hong Kong.

In the airport categories, nominees are divided based on annual passenger traffic. Under the Under 5 Million Passengers category, the finalists include Albrecht Dürer Airport Nürnberg, Cork Airport, Halifax Stanfield International Airport, and London Southend Airport.

For the 5-10 Million Passengers segment, the shortlisted airports are Adelaide Airport, Cam Ranh International Airport, Macau International Airport, Malta International Airport, Newcastle International Airport, and Stuttgart Airport.

The 10-20 Million Passengers category features Calgary International Airport, Edinburgh Airport, Indianapolis International Airport, Prague Airport, and San Antonio International Airport.

Among the busiest hubs in the Over 20 Million Passengers group, the contenders are Athens International Airport, Brussels Airport, Denver International Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, and Vancouver International Airport.

In the Destination category, the following organizations have been recognized for their efforts in air service development and tourism promotion: Andalucia Tourism Board, Cape Town Air Access, Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board.

The Airline category celebrates the importance of airline partnerships in route success. Finalists include Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, easyJet, Qantas, and Vueling, each selected by airport and destination partners.

For individual recognition, the Rising Star award honors early-career professionals already making an industry impact. This year’s nominees are Daria Sergeeva, Airport Development Manager at Wizz Air; Remon Essers-Aliende Moscoso, Strategic Network Planner at Transavia; Ryan Caldwell, Aviation Insights Manager at Newcastle Airport (Australia); Vlad Lizarov, Airport Development Manager at easyJet; and Zhuoyang Li from the Airline Development Department at Fukuoka International Airport Co., Ltd.

The prestigious Individual Leadership award, which highlights lifetime contributions to route development, features five distinguished finalists: Anindya Acharya, Head of Airline Marketing & Route Development at GMR Hyderabad International Airport; Balazs Bogats, Chief Commercial Officer at Calgary Airport Authority; Hio Kin Eric Fong, Director of Marketing at Macau International Airport; Kate Sherry, Chief Commercial Officer at Belfast International Airport; and Roberto de Oliveira Luiz, Head of Business Aviation at Corporacion America Airport.

The 2025 Routes World Awards ceremony will take place during a dedicated networking evening at the Routes World event in Hong Kong, bringing together aviation leaders from across the globe.
