Royal Caribbean Group has announced a major leadership transition, with longtime Chairman Richard Fain set to step down from the role in the fourth quarter of 2025. Fain, who has served as Chair since 1988, will remain on the Board of Directors as a Director.

Current President and CEO Jason Liberty will assume the dual role of Chairman and CEO later this year. Liberty praised Fain’s transformative leadership, noting the company’s growth into a leading global vacation brand. “I am honored and humbled to have been elected as Chairman and CEO,” Liberty said, emphasizing his commitment to delivering memorable guest experiences and long-term value for shareholders.

Fain expressed confidence in Liberty’s leadership, stating, “It is time to hand the wheel to the next generation of exceptional talent at RCG.” He added that Liberty is well-positioned to guide the company to even greater success.

As part of the board restructuring, John Brock has been appointed Independent Lead Director. Brock, who chairs the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, brings executive leadership experience from his previous roles as Chairman and CEO of Coca-Cola Enterprises and CEO of InBev.

Liberty welcomed Brock to his new position, highlighting his strong governance background and strategic insight as key assets for Royal Caribbean Group’s continued growth. The leadership changes come as the company positions itself for long-term innovation and expansion across its brands, including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises, and Silversea.
