Royal Caribbean International has unveiled its next-generation Icon Class vessel, Hero of the Seas, set to debut in summer 2027 with sailings from Miami. As the fourth ship in the Icon Class series, the vessel is designed to further elevate family-focused cruising with expanded amenities, new accommodation concepts, and immersive onboard experiences.

Hero of the Seas will feature eight distinct neighborhoods, offering a diverse mix of entertainment, dining, and relaxation spaces. The ship will also introduce the most pools at sea, along with nine total pool experiences, reinforcing Royal Caribbean’s emphasis on water-based attractions. Guests can expect 28 dining venues, including new culinary concepts and interactive cooking classes tailored for families.

Bookings for the new ship open first to Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members on April 1, followed by general availability. The vessel will operate seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries, with regular calls at Perfect Day at CocoCay, the cruise line’s private destination.

A major focus of Hero of the Seas is multigenerational travel. The ship introduces new accommodation options designed for families traveling together. Among the standout offerings is the Ultimate Family Treehouse, a three-story suite that can accommodate up to 12 guests. It includes a rooftop terrace, a private whirlpool, and dedicated spaces for children and teens. Additional options include Surfside Family Suites and Family Infinite Ocean View Balconies, while premium travelers can choose from Royal Loft Suites and Icon Loft Suites.

Dining will be a central highlight onboard. New venues include the Orleans Parish Supper Club, featuring Creole and Cajun cuisine paired with live jazz, and Royal Railway — Hero Station, an immersive dining experience set within a train-themed environment. The AquaDome Market food hall will introduce new concepts, while family cooking classes offer interactive culinary experiences for younger guests.

Entertainment and activities continue to expand. The ship will feature Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, now enhanced with new family raft slides, including the brand’s first funnel raft slide. Attractions such as Crown’s Edge combine skywalk and zipline elements, while Adrenaline Peak offers rock-climbing at sea.

Adults will also find dedicated spaces, including the new Coconut Cove pool area with in-water loungers and access to The Lime and Coconut bar, along with multiple adults-only pool options.

With its scale, innovation, and focus on shared experiences, Hero of the Seas underscores Royal Caribbean’s strategy to redefine family cruising for the next generation.
