Royal Caribbean International is unveiling exciting details about its upcoming Royal Beach Club Paradise Island, set to open in Nassau, The Bahamas by late 2025. The cruise line has engaged two leading architectural firms, ArchVenture Company Ltd. and Stantec, to bring this new beach destination to life.

Philip Simon Jr., president and general manager of Royal Beach Club and Royal Caribbean International Bahamas, highlighted the collaboration: “ArchVenture’s design approach is deeply rooted in the cultural heritage of the Bahamian community, while Stantec will focus on integrating sustainable functionality. Working with both firms will ensure that the Royal Beach Club reflects true Bahamian charm alongside top-tier infrastructural support and engineering.”

ArchVenture and Stantec will ensure that the Royal Beach Club embodies excellence in both design and sustainability. The collaboration aims to create an immersive experience that celebrates Bahamian culture while maintaining high standards of environmental responsibility.

In addition to these design efforts, Royal Caribbean has partnered with the Bahamian-owned SEV Consulting Group to oversee environmental monitoring throughout the construction and operational phases of the 17-acre beach experience. This partnership underscores the cruise line’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable development.

Construction on the Royal Beach Club began in April, marking the start of an ambitious project that emphasizes six core environmental commitments:

  1. Zero Waste-to-Landfill: Ensuring that all waste produced during construction and operation is either recycled or repurposed.
  2. Renewable Energy: Utilizing sustainable energy sources to power the facility and reduce its carbon footprint.
  3. No Dredging: Avoiding any dredging activities to preserve the natural seabed and surrounding marine environment.
  4. No Overwater Cabanas: Refraining from constructing cabanas over the water to protect marine ecosystems.
  5. Wastewater Treatment: Implementing advanced wastewater treatment systems to minimize environmental impact.
  6. Protecting and Enhancing Habitat: Committing to protect and enhance the surrounding natural habitat through careful planning and environmental monitoring.

These commitments reflect Royal Caribbean’s dedication to responsible tourism and environmental sustainability. The Royal Beach Club Paradise Island promises to offer an exceptional beach experience while prioritizing the preservation of The Bahamas’ natural beauty and cultural heritage.
