Royal Caribbean Sets Reveal Date, Training Webcast for Brand-New Utopia of the Seas Cruise Ship
Cruise industry giant Royal Caribbean International is gearing up for the highly anticipated debut of its sixth Oasis-Class ship, Utopia of the Seas.
The cruise line posted the registration link to a special Training Webcast that’s taking place alongside the new vessel’s official reveal, an event which kicks off on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. EDT. Travel advisors and other industry partners are invited to join the virtual event to learn all the exciting details.
“Utopia of the Seas is the next big thing coming to vacations, and travelers can expect an unmatched combination of reimagined experiences and never-before-seen features,”Vicki Freed, Royal Caribbean’s SVP of Sales, Trade Support and Service, told TravelPulse. “The game-changing Oasis Class always brings the variety and adventures that our guests know and love, and Utopia will not fall short of that! I can’t wait to share more during the travel partner training session on June 20th.””
With a 5,000-passenger capacity, Utopia is set to supplant her predecessor Wonder of the Seas as the largest cruise ship in the world, and she will also be the first vessel in its class to be powered by LNG (liquefied natural gas). This represents a bold step forward in the evolution of Oasis-Class ships, which revolutionized the passenger cruise industry a decade ago.
As the cleanest fossil fuel source available, the use of LNG will further reduce overall emissions and, in conjunction with other environmentally-friendly features, boost energy efficiencies. In conjunction with the cruise line’s upcoming launch of its other LNG-powered new ship, Icon of the Seas, this represents a significant stride in the line’s efforts to create a clean-energy future.
