Royal Caribbean International has announced plans to refurbish three of its popular cruise ships—Ovation of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, and Liberty of the Seas—in 2026 as part of its ongoing “Royal Amplified” program. Originally launched in 2018, the initiative is designed to elevate the onboard experience with new dining venues, entertainment options, and upgraded accommodations.

The cruise line’s Chief Product Innovation Officer, Jay Schneider, confirmed the upgrades, citing the success of previous amplifications, such as that of Allure of the Seas. “Royal Caribbean continues to raise the bar on delivering the best of every vacation with revolutionary ships and top-rated exclusive destinations,” Schneider said. “We’re excited to bring three new amplifications to our fleet in 2026.”

Ovation of the Seas is set to receive one of the most comprehensive updates. Highlights include a reimagined pool deck featuring private casitas and a new whirlpool, along with vibrant new bars and eateries. Guests can look forward to Giovanni’s Italian Kitchen, Izumi Teppanyaki, and the Pesky Parrot tiki bar. The ship will also introduce The Sound Cellar, a brand-new live music venue, as well as an expanded Casino Royale.

For families and adventurers, Ovation’s makeover will include the addition of the Ultimate Family Suite and Panoramic Suite, plus exciting attractions like the RipCord by iFly skydiving simulator and SeaPlex, an indoor activity space featuring bumper cars and interactive games.

Harmony of the Seas will undergo enhancements focused on relaxation and family fun. The ship’s pool deck will be transformed into a colorful, Caribbean-inspired oasis complete with a new Lime & Coconut bar and a revitalized adults-only Solarium. Dining options will be expanded with the addition of El Loco Fresh, Samba Grill Brazilian Steakhouse, and Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade. The ship will also receive upgrades to Casino Royale and welcome the Ultimate Family Suite.

Liberty of the Seas will be refreshed with a stylish new pool deck featuring private casitas and the popular Lime & Coconut bar. Other additions include the Royal Escape Room, Izumi Teppanyaki, El Loco Fresh, and a full-service Starbucks.

These planned enhancements aim to keep Royal Caribbean at the forefront of cruise innovation, as the line continues to cater to evolving traveler preferences. With immersive onboard experiences, expanded suite offerings, and modernized recreation areas, the 2026 updates are expected to boost appeal across multi-generational and luxury travel segments.

The company has not yet announced the specific dry dock dates for each ship, but all three upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified program reflects a broader trend in the cruise industry—one that blends next-generation onboard attractions with bold culinary concepts and elevated accommodations, ensuring the fleet remains competitive in an ever-growing global cruise market.
