Royal Caribbean Welcomes Utopia of the Seas: A New Era of Short Cruises Begins

Royal Caribbean has officially welcomed its newest marvel, Utopia of the Seas, following an elaborate handover ceremony in Saint-Nazaire, France. The event marked a significant milestone, celebrated by Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean International President and CEO Michael Bayley, and Laurent Castaing, General Manager of Chantiers de l’Atlantique, alongside over 1,600 crew members and workers.

After more than two years of meticulous construction, Utopia of the Seas is set to redefine short-sea getaways. Designed specifically for quick escapes, the ship offers 3-night weekend and 4-night weekday cruises, setting sail from Port Canaveral, near Orlando, starting July 19.

As the ship journeys to the U.S., the Royal Caribbean teams are busy adding the final touches, ensuring that every aspect of the guest experience is perfected. Utopia of the Seas boasts an impressive array of over 40 dining, drinking, and entertainment options, promising a vibrant celebration at sea.

Jason Liberty emphasized the significance of the delivery, stating, “Taking delivery of Utopia of the Seas is an incredibly important milestone, as it marks yet another evolution of our game-changing ships and our mission to create the best vacation experiences responsibly.”

Michael Bayley highlighted the unique appeal of the ship, “With the delivery of Utopia of the Seas, we have the keys to the ultimate weekend. This ship is designed to pack every possible way to make amazing memories into a short vacation. Together with Perfect Day at CocoCay, Utopia will offer an unmatched short cruise experience.”
