Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas Achieves 132% Occupancy Rate

Royal Caribbean’s newest flagship, Icon of the Seas, is setting records for popularity. Launched in January, the ship is currently sailing at 132% occupancy, according to Cruise Industry News.

Designed for a double occupancy of approximately 5,600 passengers, Icon of the Seas is now accommodating around 7,400 guests, utilizing third and fourth berths in staterooms to reach this figure.

The Royal Caribbean Group reported a 108.2% occupancy rate for Q2 2024, up from 105% in 2023. The Icon of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise ship at 250,800 gross tons, boasts 20 decks, over 40 dining and entertainment options, and is designed to hold up to 7,600 guests with a crew of 2,350. It features six record-breaking waterslides, a new AquaDome, and eight unique neighborhoods, including a dedicated area for young families.
