RSSC Launches New Foodie Voyages for Seven Seas Explorer’s First-Ever Alaska Season
Earlier this week, Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) announced a set of new special-interest itineraries to be offered aboard the Seven Seas Explorer—the 746-passenger vessel trademarked ‘The Most Luxurious Ship Ever Built’—which is set to sail its first-ever Alaska season this summer.
In celebration of its inaugural season exploring Alaska, the line is introducing new immersive and authentic, culinary experiences under the umbrella of its “Epicurean Perfection” program, both at-sea and on-land. Namely, they consist of three carefully curated ‘Epicurean Explorer Tours’ and three ‘Culinary Arts Kitchen’ classes. Foodies sailing aboard these voyages will delight in the fresh programming and enrichment elements, which are focused on both the indigenous and contemporary cuisine of the Pacific Northwest.
Each of these enhanced voyages will feature various onboard and shoreside activities hosted by culinary arts experts (chefs, sommeliers, winemakers, etc.), who will conduct demonstrations, seminars and hands-on classes, and participate in local tours.
On land, guided ‘Epicurean Explorer Tours’ include excursions to a family-owned, sustainable oyster and kelp farm in Ketchikan; in Sitka, taking a catamaran through glacier-carved fjords to see a sustainable wild Alaska salmon hatchery, followed by a seafood-centric lunch in town; and, in Juneau, a scenic tour that includes local seafood lunch paired with artisan-crafted beers.
Onboard, there will be a brand-new ‘Taste the Northwest Kitchen’ class, showcasing recipes for local dishes from the Seattle and Vancouver BC area; a series of ‘Find Another Fish’ seminars conducted by the ship’s culinary enrichment team, educating guests on how to select more sustainable seafood options at their local markets or in restaurants; and, new ‘Master Chef Junior’ classes and competitions for aspiring young chefs (six to 16 years old), with parents or grandparents serving as their as sous chefs.

From June through September 2023, will offer a total of 15, seven-night sailings between Seward, Alaska and Vancouver, British Columbia. Families can take advantage of the ‘Kids Sail Free’ promotion (for children between the ages of two and 17 years), applicable on six select Alaska voyages when guests make a new reservation by May 31, 2023. Plus, RSSC’s ‘Luxury in Alaska’ promotion provides guests who book by April 29, 2023 with savings of up to 20 percent on a dozen select Seven Seas Explorer sailings.
