Russian aerospace manufacturers are ready to deliver more than 1000 domestically made airplanes to the country’s airlines by 2030, Russian Minister of Trade and Industry Denis Manturov announced.

Manturov revealed the figure in his speech at Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian state news agency TASS reports.

“The companies of aviation industry proved the possibility to deliver over a thousand airplanes by 2030 to fulfill the needs of civil aviation while replacing the foreign-made components by Russian-made ones and modernizing the manufacturing where necessary,” Manturov said.

According to Manturov, the deliveries will include 142 Sukhoi SSJ New, 270 Irkut MC-21s, 70 Il-114-300s, 70 Tu-214s and 12 Il-96-300s. An unspecified number of TVRS-4 Ladoga, L-410 and LMS-901 Baikal regional aircraft will also be delivered.

Additionally, the manufacturers will deliver more than 760 civilian helicopters, mostly variants of the Kazan Ansat and the Mil Mi-8, Manturov said.

The figure differs from previous reports. In early June 2022 the head of state conglomerate Rostec, Yury Chemezov, said that the company plans to produce 500 aircraft by 2030.

While at least some of the numbers disclosed by Manturov have been reported before by the manufacturers, they also don’t match up with the expected production numbers for the Russian-made engines.
