Russia’s Pobeda to restart in late 2Q20
Pobeda (DP, Moscow Vnukovo) is planning to restart flights on 73 routes on June 1, 2020, after a two-month hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the first phase of its restart, Aeroflot Group’s low-cost carrier will exclusively operate domestic flights within Russia. To stimulate demand in the heavily COVID-struck country, Pobeda vowed to cut its average fares three times compared to the Summer 2019 season. The airline operates thirty-four B737-800s. While it is a predominantly domestic operator, its schedule indicates that Pobeda still hopes to deploy 17.6% of its total capacity on international routes in the week starting on August 17, 2020.
