Ryanair Adds New Challenger 3500 to Corporate Fleet

Ryanair Holdings has expanded its corporate fleet with the addition of a brand-new Challenger 3500, marking a shift from its long-standing use of Learjet 45-series aircraft. The Bombardier business jet, registered M-ABSU in the Isle of Man, was delivered on March 26, 2025, directly from Bombardier’s Montreal Trudeau facilities to Dublin International, before continuing to London Stansted on the same day.
Previously, Ryanair’s corporate fleet consisted solely of Learjet 45XRs, which were added between 2012 and 2015, and a Learjet 45 inducted in 2022. These Learjets, aged between 12 and 21 years, are owned by Aviation Finance and Leasing (Malta), a Ryanair Holdings subsidiary. The aircraft are primarily based at Ryanair’s maintenance hubs in Milan Bergamo and London Stansted and are used for transporting engineers, parts, and repositioning flight crews.
The addition of the Challenger 3500 introduces a more modern aircraft to the fleet, which could either serve the same logistical roles or potentially replace one of the aging Learjets. However, details regarding the specific role of the new Challenger 3500 in the Ryanair corporate operations remain unclear. This acquisition demonstrates Ryanair’s commitment to upgrading its corporate fleet, offering greater flexibility and efficiency in managing its business operations.
