Rydoo Acquires AI AP Platform Semine to Expand in Europe

Expense management provider Rydoo has acquired Semine, a Norway-based accounts payable automation platform powered by artificial intelligence. While the financial terms were not disclosed, the acquisition marks a strategic move in Rydoo’s mission to become a global leader in spend management.
Rydoo, headquartered in Belgium and serving more than 1 million users worldwide, helps businesses automate expense tracking, offering real-time control and reducing manual workload. The integration of Semine’s AI-driven technology is expected to significantly enhance Rydoo’s offering by adding deep capabilities in accounts payable, one of the most time-consuming areas in finance operations.
“We are excited to welcome Semine to the Rydoo family,” said Sebastien Marchon, CEO of Rydoo. “Both of our companies are built on shared values like customer obsession, product excellence, and collective intelligence. This is a true convergence of visions and cultures, bringing us closer to our ambition of building a world-class platform for finance teams.”
Semine has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing innovators in accounts payable automation across Europe. CEO Bjørn Røsten said the acquisition is a major milestone for the company and will help accelerate its reach and development. “Together with Rydoo, we’re poised to deliver the most advanced and future-ready offering in the industry,” he said, adding that both companies are aligned in their passion for cutting-edge technology and operational excellence.
With this acquisition, Rydoo aims to create an end-to-end platform that provides finance teams with full visibility, real-time insights, built-in control mechanisms, and smooth system integrations. The move also strengthens Rydoo’s competitive edge in the European market, combining Semine’s AI capabilities with Rydoo’s expertise in expense automation.
Benjamin Hara, partner at Eurazeo Elevate—which holds a majority stake in Rydoo—emphasized that the acquisition is a cornerstone of Rydoo’s long-term strategy. “Semine’s robust technology, solid growth, and exceptional management made it a natural fit. We’re proud to support this next phase of growth for both companies,” he said.
The acquisition comes amid Rydoo’s broader strategic transformation. In 2022, the company sold its travel platform to CDS Groupe to concentrate on expense and spend management. A year later, Eurazeo became the majority shareholder, signaling a renewed focus on product expansion and market leadership.
By joining forces, Rydoo and Semine aim to deliver a unified, intelligent finance platform for enterprises seeking greater efficiency, control, and agility in managing their spend. The deal positions Rydoo to compete more aggressively in the global market as finance teams increasingly turn to AI and automation to modernize operations.
