Saint Lucia’s Ladera Resort Reopens After Major Upgrade

Saint Lucia’s iconic Ladera Resort has officially reopened following an extensive renovation that enhances its signature open-air luxury experience overlooking the UNESCO-listed Piton mountains. The refreshed property now features a new 25,000-square-foot lévé Wellness & Spa, redesigned accommodations and four new dining concepts aimed at elevating the guest experience.
Ladera Property Manager Eustace Augustine, who has worked at the resort for more than four decades and helped build it, said the location remains its greatest asset, perched on a ridge so close to the Pitons “it feels like you can reach out and touch them.” The new lévé Wellness & Spa was designed to maximize that sense of connection, with panoramic views of the rainforest valley. Spa manager Valencia Biscette said the aromas, natural sounds and open-air design are intended to immerse guests in Saint Lucia’s landscape in an authentic and calming way.
All 37 suites and villas have been fully revamped to echo the surrounding rainforest with organic color palettes, natural textures and custom handcrafted furniture produced in collaboration with the resort’s master carver. The result is a more contemporary yet nature-driven aesthetic that stays true to Ladera’s open-wall philosophy.
The renovation also introduces several new culinary venues. The Jako Wellness Café at lévé Wellness & Spa serves smoothies, cold-pressed juices and light dishes for breakfast and lunch. The Sunset Fish Fry offers al fresco dining beside the infinity pool, creating a relaxed setting for enjoying Saint Lucia’s renowned sunsets. The Hideaway Rum Bar brings a candlelit Caribbean cave atmosphere with small-batch rums, tapas and cheese plates, while the Wine Room at Dasheene adds an intimate tasting menu inspired by local flavors.
General Manager Christian Gandara said the upgraded resort deepens Ladera’s longstanding commitment to nature-focused luxury. “It would be hard to get closer to nature anywhere in the world. Ladera is total immersion, and our new renovation connects guests even closer to this Saint Lucian paradise.”
