Sale lifts hopes for Calif. Bay Area lodging rebound

A Louisiana firm’s purchase of the Aloft hotel in San Jose, Calif., for a reported $54 million, is being touted as a harbinger of recovery for the Bay Area hospitality industry. “The deal shows there is bullish sentiment about San Jose and Silicon Valley,” said Alan Reay of Atlas Hospitality Group, which tracks the lodging market in the state.
