SAS Launches First Direct Flight from Scandinavia to South Korea
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is set to launch its first-ever regular direct route from Scandinavia to South Korea, beginning on September 12, 2025. This new service will connect Copenhagen to Seoul, operating four times a week during the summer season and three times a week in the winter. The flights will utilize an Airbus A350 aircraft.
This route aims to strengthen Copenhagen’s role as a gateway for intercontinental travel and meet the growing interest among travelers from South Korea in exploring Scandinavia, while also providing seamless connections to other destinations across Europe.
Anko van der Werff, President & CEO of SAS, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating, “This new route highlights our commitment to meeting customer demand and enhancing connectivity between two dynamic regions. Seoul, renowned as a global center of culture, innovation, and business, is a strategic addition to our growing network. As a proud SkyTeam member, this route further strengthens the seamless connectivity we provide, linking Scandinavia to key destinations across the globe.”
The launch of this new route is still subject to final governmental approval. With the addition of this route to Seoul and another new route to Seattle starting in May 2025, SAS will offer 14 intercontinental destinations from Copenhagen, connecting to over 100 destinations across Europe.
