Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), gearing up for its summer 2024 season, is set to introduce nine new routes across Europe, focusing on popular leisure destinations in Italy, Montenegro, Spain, and Turkey.

From Copenhagen Airport (CPH), SAS is adding five new services. This includes peak-season flights to Dalaman, Turkey, and Ibiza, Spain, each operating once a week from late June to mid-August. Additionally, a weekly service to Genoa, Italy, will be available throughout the summer months.

SAS is also extending its winter routes from Copenhagen to Salzburg, Austria, and Tromsø, Norway. Flights to Salzburg will run weekly on Saturdays, while Tromsø will be served with two weekly roundtrips on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Oslo Gardermoen Airport (OSL) will see the launch of three new peak-season routes to Geneva, Milan Linate, and Tivat in Montenegro. Moreover, Bergen Airport in Norway will introduce a thrice-weekly service to London Heathrow.

SAS, a Star Alliance member, also plans to increase flight frequencies to other key leisure destinations. This includes cities like Alicante, Malaga, and Palma de Mallorca in Spain, and Florence in Italy. For example, there will be up to 20 weekly flights from Copenhagen and Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Malaga and up to 17 flights from Oslo to Alicante.

In addition, Milan Malpensa Airport will see four daily services from Copenhagen, along with daily flights to Florence and up to 25 weekly flights to Nice. Oslo will also offer 14 weekly departures to Split, Croatia.

SAS is also boosting its presence in northern Europe with increased frequencies to cities like Düsseldorf, Brussels, Gdansk, Warsaw, and Vilnius. From Stockholm Arlanda, there will be up to six daily flights to Tallinn, Estonia, and three daily flights to Vilnius, Lithuania. The airline also plans to increase its Berlin flights to twice daily and enhance connections to Helsinki, Turku, and Vaasa in Finland.

SAS’s long-haul summer 2024 schedule includes increased frequencies from Copenhagen to Boston Logan International Airport, New York JFK, and Toronto Pearson International Airport. Additionally, routes from Copenhagen to Shanghai Pudong International Airport and Tokyo Haneda International Airport will increase from three to four times weekly starting April 25.

While SAS has been named the Official Carrier for Routes Europe 2024, it has no plans to resume its Airbus A321LR routes to JFK from Aalborg, Denmark, and Gothenburg, Sweden, which were served up to three times per week in the summer 2023 season. Overall, SAS aims to serve more than 130 destinations in over 40 countries this summer, demonstrating its commitment to expanding its global footprint.
