Saudi Arabia to Present $100 Billion Aviation Investment Opportunities at Future Aviation Forum
Saudi Arabia is set to unveil over $100 billion worth of investment opportunities at the upcoming Future Aviation Forum (FAF24) held from May 20-22 in Riyadh. This major event aims to catalyze the ambitious Saudi Aviation Strategy by attracting global investment into the kingdom’s rapidly growing aviation sector, which spans airports, airlines, ground services, cargo, and logistics.
The investment showcase will feature projects totaling more than $50 billion for airports and approximately $40 billion for new aircraft orders. Additionally, $10 billion will be allocated to various other projects, including a significant $5 billion investment aimed at developing special logistics areas around the major airports in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.
His Excellency Saleh Al-Jasser, the Minister for Transport and Logistics Services, who will inaugurate the forum, emphasized the scale and global uniqueness of the opportunities being presented. “Saudi Arabia is presenting aviation investment opportunities that are unmatched globally,” he stated. “Our strategy aims to triple passenger numbers, connect to more than 250 destinations worldwide, and handle 330 million passengers and 4.5 million tons of cargo by 2030.”
His Excellency Khalid Al-Falih, the Minister for Investment, who will open the Investment Showcase, highlighted Saudi Arabia’s positioning as a burgeoning hub for global investments. “Saudi Arabia is the world’s new investment hub, targeting $3.3 trillion in investment by 2030,” Al-Falih remarked. “Aviation is a key sector and enabler of the Kingdom’s broader economic transformation. The aviation investment showcase will provide investors with unparalleled access to participate in the Kingdom’s transformation.”
This strategic focus on expanding and enhancing the aviation sector is a crucial component of Saudi Arabia’s vision to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil. By hosting FAF24 and presenting these investment opportunities, Saudi Arabia is taking significant steps toward becoming a leading global player in aviation and logistics.
