Saudia Introduces Stopover Visa Program for European Travelers to Saudi Arabia
Saudia Airlines, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is now offering a convenient stopover visa program for passengers traveling from Europe to Saudi Arabia. This innovative program allows travelers to apply for a stopover visa seamlessly during the flight booking process on Saudia’s website, where they can also pay for their ticket and visa in one integrated step.
The stopover visa enables passengers to stay in Saudi Arabia for up to 96 hours, providing them an excellent opportunity to explore the country’s rich cultural heritage and major tourist attractions. During their stay, travelers can perform Umrah, visit sacred sites, and explore Saudi Arabia’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed destinations such as the historic city of Jeddah, the majestic desert landscape of AlUla, and the verdant Al-Ahsa Oasis.
Arved Muhlen, Chief Commercial Officer at Saudia, expressed enthusiasm about the new service, stating, “We are very proud to be bringing the world to Saudi Arabia with our stopover visa initiative. The seamless digital journey for our guests embodies the hospitality that defines flying with Saudia.” This initiative is part of Saudia’s efforts to enhance travel and tourism to the Kingdom as envisioned in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which aims to increase annual visits to 150 million by 2030.
This stopover visa program not only simplifies the travel process but also opens up Saudi Arabia to more international visitors, promoting cultural exchange and boosting tourism as part of the broader economic transformation goals set by the Kingdom.
