Scoot Launches Direct Flights to Vienna and Iloilo
Singaporean low-cost carrier Scoot has announced two exciting new non-stop routes from Singapore Changi Airport (SIN), expanding its international network. Beginning in mid-2025, passengers will be able to travel directly from Singapore to Vienna, Austria, and Iloilo, Philippines, enhancing travel options for both leisure and business travelers.
New Direct Service to Vienna
Scoot will launch its three times weekly flights to Vienna International Airport (VIE) on June 3, 2025. The service will be operated with the carrier’s modern Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which accommodates 329 passengers in two distinct cabin classes. The detailed schedule for the Vienna service is as follows:
- Flight TR708 (Singapore – Vienna): Departs SIN at 03:00 local time and arrives in Vienna at 10:10 local time.
- Flight TR709 (Vienna – Singapore): Departs VIE at 11:25 local time and arrives back in Singapore at 04:50 local time on the following day.
Scoot’s CEO, Leslie Thng, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, stating, “We remain committed to expanding our network and connecting travelers to new destinations around the world at a great value. As the only airline offering direct flights between Singapore and Vienna, we are thrilled to introduce this new service in June, just in time for the holidays.”
New Direct Service to Iloilo
In addition to the European expansion, Scoot is also launching a non-stop service to Iloilo International Airport (ILO) in the Philippines. This new route is scheduled to begin on April 14, 2025, using the carrier’s Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, offering a seating capacity of 112. Initially, the service will operate three times a week; however, from June 2025, the frequency will increase to four times per week. The flight timetable for the Iloilo service is as follows:
- Flight TR374 (Singapore – Iloilo): Departs SIN at 02:00 local time and lands in Iloilo at 05:35 local time.
- Flight TR375 (Iloilo – Singapore): Departs ILO at 06:10 local time and arrives back at SIN at 09:45 local time.
Leslie Thng added, “With the launch of direct flights to Iloilo City, we also hope to inspire our customers to explore more cities within Southeast Asia and embark on new travel experiences.” Iloilo City, located in the Visayas region, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, including well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture, historic churches, and charming old houses, making it an appealing destination for visitors.
Network Adjustments and Strategic Moves
Alongside these new routes, Scoot is also adjusting its overall network strategy to better align capacity with evolving demand. As part of this optimization effort, the carrier has decided to suspend its services to Berlin Airport (BER) and Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport (TNA) in China. These adjustments allow Scoot to concentrate resources on high-demand and high-value routes, ensuring a competitive offering and efficient aircraft deployment.
The introduction of these direct flights not only broadens Scoot’s reach but also enhances its value proposition in a highly competitive market. With Vienna offering a gateway to Europe and Iloilo providing deeper access to Southeast Asia’s dynamic travel landscape, Scoot is positioning itself as a pivotal player in connecting various key global regions.
Travelers can now start booking for these new routes via Scoot’s website. As the airline continues to refine its network strategy, these new services are set to offer both convenience and cost-effective travel options, further cementing Scoot’s reputation as an innovative and customer-focused low-cost carrier.
