Sea Cloud Cruises, a prestigious name in the realm of cruise vacations, is set to elevate its 2024 voyages on the Sea Cloud Spirit with the addition of two esteemed broadcast journalists serving as guest lecturers. This unique offering underscores the cruise line’s commitment to providing enriching and memorable experiences for its guests.

In a significant announcement, Sea Cloud Cruises revealed that Joel Seidman, an acclaimed producer for NBC, and Kerry Sanders, a seasoned correspondent recognized from NBC’s “TODAY” show, will grace the Sea Cloud Spirit’s sailings. Seidman will embark on the voyage from Bilbao to the Azores, scheduled from July 23 to August 4, while Sanders will illuminate the St. Maarten roundtrip journey happening from November 27 to December 4. These sailings are distinct, catering to no more than 136 guests, thereby ensuring an intimate and immersive experience. Attendees can look forward to engaging onboard lectures, interactive discussions, and the charm of boutique ports, all while sailing under the traditional elegance of Sea Cloud Spirit’s 28 manually hoisted sails.

Mirell Reyes, President of Sea Cloud Cruises North America, expressed her excitement about the upcoming voyages. She highlighted the Sea Cloud Spirit’s spacious lounge as an ideal setting for fostering deep conversations and shared insights. According to Reyes, the inclusion of Seidman and Sanders as lecturers is poised to enrich guests’ experiences significantly, as they share captivating stories from their extensive careers in journalism, covering pivotal moments in recent history.

The itinerary for the Bilbao to Azores sailing is packed with intrigue, including stops in Gijón, a full day of sailing, extended stays in Porto (Leixões), and a concluding segment of sailing leading to an overnight stay in Ponta Delgada on São Miguel in the Azores. The St. Maarten roundtrip voyage promises an equally fascinating schedule, featuring Philipsburg on St. Maarten, a day dedicated to sailing, explorations of Terre-de-Haut in the Îles des Saintes, Soufrière on St. Lucia, Cabrits in Dominica, another full day of sailing, a visit to Gustavia on St. Barthélemy, and returning to Philipsburg.

Joel Seidman stands out as a master storyteller with a remarkable track record at NBC, earning him multiple Emmy Awards, an Edward R. Murrow Award, and several CINE Gold Eagles. His adventurous reports have taken viewers from the rainforests of Central America to Arctic expeditions and close encounters with polar bears in Canada. Seidman’s notable achievements include flying with F-22 Raptors in Alaska and securing an exclusive interview with a high-ranking U.S. general overseeing space defense.

Kerry Sanders, boasting a 32-year tenure with NBC as a Miami-based correspondent, has become a familiar face on “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt,” “TODAY,” and MSNBC. His adventurous spirit and environmental advocacy have been evident through his daring live reports and extensive coverage of natural disasters and significant global events. Sanders’ distinguished career is adorned with multiple Emmy Awards, Edward R Murrow awards, and other prestigious recognitions.

With these additions to the 2024 sailings, Sea Cloud Cruises not only promises an unparalleled cruising experience but also enriches its voyages with deep intellectual engagement and storytelling prowess, setting a new benchmark in luxury travel.
