Sheikh Mohammed Tours Emirates First Airbus A350

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, was given an exclusive tour of Emirates’ first-ever Airbus A350-900 ahead of its official unveiling. Accompanied by Ahmed bin Saeed, Chairman and CEO of Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the aircraft’s advanced design and technologies during the visit to the Emirates Engineering hub in Dubai on November 27, 2024.

Emirates took delivery of its first Airbus A350 in Toulouse, France, on November 25, 2024, before the aircraft made its ferry flight to Dubai International Airport (DXB) later that day. The new A350 is a significant milestone in the airline’s fleet expansion, marking the beginning of a new era for Emirates as it strengthens its network and operational capabilities.

Sheikh Mohammed praised for his “decisive leadership and support” in shaping Emirates’ success, joined bin Saeed to inspect the aircraft and learn about its features. The Emirates A350-941, registered A6-EXA, is officially being unveiled on November 27, 2024, with media representatives among the first to step aboard the new aircraft.

Ahmed bin Saeed spoke enthusiastically about the new aircraft: “Today is an exciting milestone for Emirates as we showcase our first A350 and usher in a new era for our fleet and network growth. This aircraft sets the stage for Emirates to spread its wings farther by offering added range, efficiency, and flexibility to our network, enabling us to meet customer demand in new markets and unlock new opportunities in the cities that we serve.”

The new Emirates A350 is designed to provide a premium flying experience, featuring three cabin classes with a total capacity of 312 passengers. It includes 32 next-generation business class lie-flat seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 259 economy class seats. The aircraft’s advanced technology and fuel efficiency will contribute to Emirates’ sustainable growth and further enhance passenger comfort on long-haul flights.

In a move to expand its network, Emirates confirmed that its A350 will begin scheduled daily service to Edinburgh from January 3, 2025, ahead of the initial launch date. The aircraft will also be deployed to several other destinations, including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kuwait, Bahrain, Colombo, Lyon, Muscat, and Bologna. Additional routes will follow as the airline continues to integrate the A350 into its expanding global network.

The arrival of the A350 underscores Emirates’ commitment to providing its passengers with the latest in aviation technology and comfort. With a growing fleet and an ever-expanding route network, Emirates is poised to meet the rising demand for air travel and continue its leadership in global aviation.
