Sierra Aviation Gains Turkish AOC with Gulfstream GIV-SP

Sierra Aviation has officially secured air operator’s certificate (AOC) #TR-AT-105 from Türkiye’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM) following the addition of a Gulfstream GIV-SP to its fleet. The 22.7-year-old aircraft, registered TC-EMR (msn 1481), is configured to seat up to 14 passengers and is currently based at Istanbul Atatürk Airport.
The jet was previously operated under Zafer Air’s AOC and joins Sierra Aviation as part of its expanding operations. Another GIV-SP, the 23.6-year-old TC-DMR (msn 1456), with seating for 13 passengers, is also listed on Sierra Aviation’s website. Imported from the United States earlier in 2025, the aircraft is not currently flying under Zafer Air’s HMZ code, and it remains uncertain if it will be officially added to Sierra’s AOC.
Founded in 2024, Sierra Aviation is headquartered in Ankara and specializes in private jet charters and air ambulance services. The company’s certification strengthens its presence in Türkiye’s growing business aviation market, where several operators already manage the GIV-SP variant.
Currently, Bonair and Genel Havacilik each operate two GIV-SPs, while Alfa Jet, BKNJET, and CKD Aviation manage one each. Beyond this model, older GIV aircraft are flown by ACM Air and CKD Aviation, with some operating on behalf of Istanbul Airlines.
The Gulfstream G450, an upgraded version of the GIV-SP, is also present in Türkiye with operators such as AirENKA, Körfez Havacilik, Redstar Aviation, VatanJet, and Zafer Air, which flies three including one for the Kyrgyz government.
