Silk Way West Airlines launches weekly freighter flights to Houston

Silk Way West Airlines has announced the launch of new weekly freighter flights to Houston, Texas starting from this week.

The Baku, Azerbaijan-based cargo airline said in a press release on April 12 that it will operate the flights to George Bush Intercontinental Airport.

The airline did not specify which aircraft would be used on the route, but it currently has a fleet of Boeing B747-400 freighters and B747-8Fs.

Silk Way West Airlines said it will also continue to operate regular flights to Chicago and Dallas, expanding its growing route network in the Americas.

“We are thrilled to launch our new weekly flights to Houston, one of the most important cargo gateways in the United States, which will provide additional capacity and faster transit times for our customers,” said Fadi Nahas, vice president commercial of Silk Way West Airlines.

“Our growing presence in the Americas demonstrates our commitment to providing reliable and efficient cargo solutions for our customers in this region. This new route will also enhance our ability to connect customers to key markets in Central Asia and the Middle East.”

In February, Silk Way West Airlines expanded its scheduled network in the Middle East and Central Asia when it began operating two scheduled freighter flights a week between Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport and Dammam King Fahd International Airport and Tashkent International Airport.

The airline finalised an order for two B777-8Fs in November last year, with options for two additional aircraft of the same type.
