Silver Air Enhances Fleet with Addition of Global Express from Jet Edge

Silver Air, a prominent aircraft management and direct charter operator based in Fresno, California, has successfully expanded its prestigious fleet by acquiring a Bombardier Global Express. This strategic acquisition from Jet Edge significantly enhances Silver Air’s diverse range of aircraft, which includes everything from turboprops to ultra long-range business jets.

The transfer of management rights for the Bombardier Business Aircraft Global Express, identified by the tail number N228SS and manufacturer serial number 9124, was finalized in early May 2024. The transition was documented through ch-aviation research and confirmed by Federal Aviation Administration data. This move marks a notable shift in fleet composition for Jet Edge, as it no longer lists a Global Express type in its array of managed aircraft.

Ownership records indicate that N228SS is held by SWS Venture Capital Services LLC, a boutique venture capital firm operating out of California. This entity is led by Steve Streit, a well-known American entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of Green Dot Corporation.

Silver Air’s acquisition underscores its commitment to providing exceptional service and a wide variety of aircraft options to meet the needs of its clientele. The company’s fleet now boasts an impressive lineup including models such as the PC-12, Hawker 400XP, Cessna Citation Ultra, and many more, culminating in ultra-luxurious offerings like the Gulfstream 550 and now, two Global Express jets.

This strategic expansion not only enhances Silver Air’s operational capabilities but also solidifies its position as a leading player in the competitive aviation charter market.
