Singapore Airlines continues to dominate the ultra-long-haul flight sector in 2024 with its nonstop service between Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) and New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This route holds the title for the longest nonstop commercial flight in the world for the third consecutive year. The flight spans 9,527 miles (8,279 nautical miles) and takes an average of 18 hours and 40 minutes, operated by the Airbus A350-900.

Singapore Airlines’ second-longest nonstop route, connecting Singapore to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), is only 2 miles shorter, further solidifying the airline’s position in the long-haul market. The top three longest nonstop flights remain unchanged from 2023, with Qatar Airways’ service from Doha (DOH) to Auckland (AKL) taking third place, covering 9,026 miles (7,843 nautical miles) and averaging just under 18 hours.

New to the top 10 in 2024 are two noteworthy entries. Qantas’ route from Perth Airport (PER) to Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG), which launched in July 2024, ranks sixth, covering 8,864 miles (7,703 nautical miles) with a flight time of approximately 17 hours and 20 minutes. Also joining the list is China Southern Airlines’ Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport (SZX) to Mexico City International Airport (MEX) route, which commenced in April 2024, and now ranks ninth with a distance of 8,776 miles (7,626 nautical miles). This route restores nonstop connectivity between China and Mexico for the first time in over four years.
