Egypt-based Sky Vision Airlines is expanding its operational capabilities by entering the cargo charter market with the acquisition of its first Airbus A320-200(P2F). This move marks a significant diversification for the airline, traditionally known for its passenger services. The newly converted freighter, registered as SU-SKD (msn 2724) and aged 18.1 years, previously served orange2fly in a passenger capacity before its conversion into a freighter by ST Engineering Aerospace at Singapore Seletar.

Scheduled to commence cargo charter operations from its base in Sharjah on March 28, the A320-200(P2F) will initially focus on serving the market demand until the onset of the Egyptian perishables season in mid-October. This strategic positioning allows Sky Vision Airlines to optimize its freighter usage by aligning with seasonal market requirements and demands.

In anticipation of further expanding its cargo capabilities, Sky Vision Airlines is also expecting the delivery of a second A320-200(P2F), D-AATA (msn 2288), which has already undergone conversion by GAMECO at Guangzhou airport. This addition underscores the airline’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the cargo sector and enhancing its service offerings.

Currently, Sky Vision Airlines operates two passenger-configured A320-200 aircraft, with one wet-leased to Nile Air and the other to Nesma Airlines, according to the ch-aviation fleets module. The foray into cargo charter services with the A320-200(P2F) freighters represents a new chapter for Sky Vision Airlines, positioning it as a versatile operator capable of meeting diverse aviation needs in the region.
