SkyLease Cargo Settles USPS Mail Case for $1.03 Million

SkyLease Cargo has agreed to pay USD1.03 million, including USD515,000 in restitution, to resolve a US Department of Justice case alleging the carrier knowingly submitted false performance data under its mail delivery contract with the United States Postal Service. Prosecutors claimed the airline misreported delivery times for US mail shipments across its designated routes between 2019 and 2023.
According to the DOJ, the settlement addresses the allegations without assigning liability or determining wrongdoing. SkyLease Cargo continues to operate cargo services from its Miami International Airport base, and the agreement brings an end to the multi-year investigation into its compliance with federal mail delivery requirements.
