Skyside Expands Operations with A321F and Eyes Growth in Bizjet Sector

Skyside, based in Vienna, is set to expand its operations significantly in the second quarter of 2025, as the company plans to transition from wet-leasing to managing its own Airbus A321-200(PCF). Kevin Korcz, Skyside’s Managing Director, revealed in an interview with ch-aviation that the company is preparing to take over the aircraft operationally by April next year. This move involves extending their Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) and stepping up their staffing and operational manuals to accommodate the change.

The A321, currently operated under SmartLynx Airlines Malta, is expected to enhance Skyside’s scheduled operations and provide reliable service for the supply chain, with dedicated days for ad-hoc charters. This strategic shift is fueled by the synergy with its parent company, the logistics holding Columbia Group, which has facilitated Skyside’s entry into the narrowbody cargo segment. The company has identified a growing market demand in Cyprus and the surrounding regions, prompting a partnership with Cyprus-based Airtrans Group to optimize capacity utilization.

In addition to its cargo ambitions, Skyside is actively exploring opportunities to grow its executive jet fleet. The company currently owns a Falcon 2000EX EASy, a Falcon 2000LX, and a Global 6000, and manages other aircraft available for charter. With plans to harmonize and potentially expand its fleet, Skyside is considering adding another A321 freighter and exploring the bizliner market, which could include luxury Airbus Corporate Jets (ACJs) and Boeing Business Jets (BBJs) due to the new cargo capabilities.

As Skyside prepares for these ambitious expansions, it remains committed to maintaining high-quality service and building long-term client relationships, emphasizing the importance of sustainable growth in both staffing and fleet management. The integration with Columbia Group’s maintenance capabilities further strengthens Skyside’s operational efficiency, ensuring minimal downtime and enhanced service delivery in both its cargo and business jet operations.
