Sonesta Launches Two New Soft Brands

Sonesta International Hotel Corporation is debuting two soft brands that will expand its upscale offerings, called Classico, A Sonesta Collection and MOD, A Sonesta Collection.

Classico is an upper-midscale brand offering hotels with unique offerings, local cuisine and beautiful interiors that create an immersive hotel stay experience for guests. The first Classico property is the Z Ocean Hotel in Miami, which opened on May 1, 2023.

MOD, on the other hand, is an upscale brand focused on flexibility. Each property offers eclectic design and amenities, including curated food and beverage options. The first of these properties is the Hotel 11 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

“Sonesta is proud to unveil Classico and MOD, extending our suite of offerings with distinct brands that we believe will appeal to both franchisees and consumers,” said Elizabeth Harlow, Sonesta’s Chief Brand Officer. “Classico’s upper-upscale identity is a unique alternative to The Royal and The James brands. MOD’s modern upscale brand allows owners and developers to maintain the qualities that make their hotels unique.”

The two new brands add to Sonesta Franchising’s previous total of seventeen different brands, including the new The James, The Royal Sonesta and Sonesta Essential brands.
