Sonesta Signs 31 Franchise Deals, Opens 10 Hotels in 2025

Sonesta International Hotels Corporation announced strong growth in the first half of 2025 with 31 new franchise agreements and 10 hotel openings, reflecting its global expansion strategy.

“The continued growth, with 31 new franchise agreements, highlights Sonesta’s momentum and our attractive value proposition for owners,” said Keith Pierce, EVP and President of Franchise & Development. He noted increasing demand across the company’s diverse portfolio, strengthening relationships with existing owners.

Despite macroeconomic and political headwinds early in the year, Sonesta’s flexible, owner-focused model continues to appeal to developers seeking stability and growth opportunities. “Our tailored brand offerings and flexible standards are resonating with developers,” added Brian Quinn, Chief Development Officer. “These new agreements and openings expand our footprint in key markets.”

Recent openings include Sonesta Essential Baton Rouge (LA), Red Lion Hotel Charlotte (NC), Signature Inn Berkeley (CA), Americas Best Value Inn Donaldsonville (LA), Americas Best Value Inn Fredonia (NY), Sonesta Essentia Blue Springs (MO), Sonesta Essential Overland Park (KS), Signature Inn Miami (FL), and a dual-brand Americas Best Value Inn/Knights Inn in Pilot Mountain (NC).

Sonesta’s portfolio spans 13 brands across upper-upscale, lifestyle, upscale, midscale, extended-stay, and economy segments, providing a range of options for owners and developers. Guests at these new locations can earn and redeem points through the Sonesta Travel Pass loyalty program, offering added value for travelers.
