Southwest adds sustainable aviation fuel at OAK

Southwest Airlines is the first carrier to use sustainable aviation fuel at the Oakland International Airport, which is the third commercial airport in the US to incorporate SAF into daily operations of a major airline. SAF can result in lower carbon intensity than traditional jet fuel and Southwest is aiming to replace 10% of its total jet fuel consumption with SAF by 2030.
