Southwest CEO cites high summer travel demand

Southwest CEO Bob Jordan credited record operating performance for sustaining Southwest Airlines through the busy summer travel period. Jordan says bookings remain strong through Labor Day. “We saw a huge surge in demand in March, and that followed all through summer,” Jordan said. “Demand for air travel was very strong.”
