A New York woman was arrested after a violent outburst aboard a Southwest Airlines flight departing from LaGuardia Airport on Tuesday. Leanna Perry, 32, was charged with aggravated assault after attacking a fellow passenger and kicking flight crew members.

According to the Port Authority Police Department, Perry erupted into a profanity-laced tirade before takeoff. She grabbed a woman’s hair and hurled insults, including calling the passenger a “fat b**ch.” Despite being caught on camera during the assault, Perry denied any wrongdoing as fellow passengers urged her to stop.

Video footage shows Perry continuing to resist while being restrained. She kicked passengers and crew, shouted more insults, and yelled, “I can’t breathe!” as she fell between seats. Her hands were zip-tied by crew members during the struggle.

The incident was captured in a viral video posted to Reddit, where it sparked strong reactions. Viewers criticized her behavior and questioned why passengers weren’t better protected. One commenter wrote, “Hope she gets named and shamed,” while another called for stricter consequences for such conduct.

Southwest Airlines confirmed the disturbance, stating, “The customer involved was removed from the flight and denied boarding. We commend our team for their professionalism.”

After the incident, Perry was escorted off the aircraft and taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation. She was later transferred to the custody of the New York City Department of Corrections.

Authorities responded to the incident as a case involving an intoxicated passenger. The flight eventually departed after the disruption was resolved.
