Southwest reports on a year of diversity initiatives

In the year since Southwest Airlines made a renewed commitment to diversity, the airline provided an update on its efforts and goals. Southwest recently named Juan Suarez vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusion; formed an executive steering committee to support the direction of DEI efforts and mandated diverse slates of candidates and interviewers for leadership roles. The airline also created a formal mentorship program and established a working team focused on creating a Diversity Recruiting Center of Excellence and boosting the airline’s Supplier Diversity Program.
