Air Europa will introduce its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 into scheduled service on June 23, 2025, with an inaugural flight from Madrid Barajas to Amsterdam Schiphol. The Spanish carrier had previously postponed the aircraft’s entry into service, initially planning its debut for September 2025.

Following its Amsterdam launch, the 737 MAX 8 will begin operating on the Madrid-Brussels route on June 24, 2025, according to AeroRoutes. Additional routes from Madrid to Paris Orly and London Gatwick will commence on October 1, 2025, and January 10, 2026, respectively.

Air Europa has twenty Boeing 737 MAX 8s on order directly from Boeing and will also acquire ten more on dry lease from AerCap. However, the airline has yet to receive its first aircraft.

Currently, the airline operates a fleet of 43 aircraft, including eighteen Boeing 737-800s, ten Boeing 787-8s, and fifteen Boeing 787-9s. The addition of the MAX 8s is expected to enhance operational efficiency and expand its European network.

With the Boeing 737 MAX 8, Air Europa aims to modernize its short- and medium-haul fleet while improving fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.
