Spain’s Binter Canarias orders 4+1 ATR72-600s

Binter Canarias (NT, Las Palmas) has ordered four ATR72-600s from Avions de Transport Régional with an option for a fifth of the type.

Announced during the ongoing Dubai Air Show, the Canary Islands-based carrier will use the new turboprops to gradually replace its existing fleet of seven ATR72-500s, which currently averages 13.5 years of age, the ch-aviation fleets advanced module reflects.

Together with its Canarias Airlines (RSC, Las Palmas) subsidiary, Binter Canarias already operates seventeen ATR72-600s (with one more due to delivery) and five E195-E2s. Besides intra-Canary Island flights, it also offers regular services to mainland Spain, Morocco, Senegal, Mauritania, Cabo Verde, Portugal, France, and Italy.
