World2Fly (Spain) (WFL, Palma de Mallorca) has taken delivery of the first of its two A350-900s on dry-lease from Air Lease Corporation. The lessor said in a press release that EC-NOI (msn 448) was formally handed over to the start-up on June 7, 2021. It was ferried from Toulouse Blagnac to Madrid Barajas on June 9 ahead of its planned induction into service at the end of the month. The aircraft is configured for up to 432 passengers in a single-class layout. World2Fly received its Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) in April 2021 and plans to launch on June 19, 2021, proferring scheduled services from Madrid Barajas (and later Lisbon) to destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America. It will initially operate one ex-Air Europa A330-300 on lease from Macquarie AirFinance and one A350-900. The second A350-900 on lease from ALC, msn 534, is due for delivery in May 2022. The airline is owned by Spanish tourism holding Iberostar. Its Portuguese sister carrier, World2Fly (Portugal), is currently undergoing certification.
