Spirit Airlines has officially retired its Airbus A319-100 fleet, with the final flight of the type completed on January 6, 2025. The last commercial service, operated by N535NK (msn 4403), flew between Fort Lauderdale International and San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin.

Following its final passenger flight, the aircraft was ferried to Houston Intercontinental on January 7 and later to Coolidge Municipal Airport, Arizona, on January 10. Another A319, N536NK (msn 4422), was ferried to Coolidge on January 8, marking the end of the A319 era for Spirit.

Originally set for retirement in the second quarter of 2025, the airline accelerated the phase-out as part of its Chapter 11 restructuring process. In 2024 alone, Spirit retired 17 A319s, leaving only two in operation into early 2025.

Spirit Airlines’ fleet now comprises 213 narrowbody aircraft, including 64 A320-200s, 91 A320neo, 30 A321-200s, and 28 A321neo. The move aligns with Spirit’s strategy to streamline operations and focus on newer, more efficient aircraft models.

The retirement of the A319s marks a significant milestone as Spirit works to emerge from its Chapter 11 reorganization with a more optimized fleet for future growth.
