Princess Cruises has officially launched its newest Sphere-Class ship, Star Princess, with an 11-day inaugural Western Mediterranean voyage from Barcelona, marking a major milestone for the line’s growing fleet of 17 ships. The vessel blends modern luxury, cutting-edge innovation, and the brand’s signature warm service, offering an experience that connects guests with both the world and one another.

Star Princess shines brightly as one of the largest and most spectacular ships we’ve ever built,” said Gus Antorcha, president of Princess Cruises. “We proudly welcome guests on her inaugural voyage and wish her captain, senior officers, and crew much success. May her voyages be safe, her sunsets unforgettable, and may she shine as her name promises—both in the sky and on the seas.”

The 177,800-ton ship accommodates up to 4,300 guests and features 30 restaurants and bars, upscale accommodations, and innovative entertainment options. Captain Gennaro Arma expressed his pride in leading the new vessel from construction at the Monfalcone shipyard to its first sailing. “It’s a true honor to guide Star Princess on her maiden voyage and welcome guests aboard to experience the extraordinary service Princess is known for,” he said.

The inaugural itinerary, sailing October 4–15, 2025, includes stops in Marseille, Rome (Civitavecchia), Naples, Sicily, Cartagena, and Gibraltar. Following this voyage, Star Princess will cross the Atlantic to begin her first Caribbean season from Fort Lauderdale, where her official naming ceremony will take place on November 6, 2025. After winter sailings in the Caribbean, the ship will head to Seattle for summer 2026 Alaska cruises.

Highlights include two original theater productions—Meridian and Illuminate—plus the return of Spellbound by Magic Castle. Guests can also enjoy deck parties, themed celebrations, and the new Candlelight Concert Series in The Dome, a glass-enclosed venue under the stars.

With more than 1,500 balcony staterooms, the Sanctuary Collection of premium suites, and new dining venues like O’Malley’s Irish Pub and Love by Britto, Star Princess sets a new standard for elevated cruising—offering guests a world of elegance, entertainment, and unforgettable experiences at sea.
