Starlink Wi-Fi Now Available on Cessna Citation Sovereign Jets

Textron Aviation has announced that Starlink, the satellite internet service developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, is now available for its Cessna Citation Sovereign and Sovereign+ business jets. The update follows the Federal Aviation Administration’s approval of AeroMech’s Supplemental Type Certificate (STC), which clears the way for installation of Starlink’s high-speed internet system on these aircraft.

The July 10, 2025 announcement marks a major step in expanding advanced inflight connectivity to private jet passengers. Using SpaceX’s network of Low Earth Orbit satellites, Starlink delivers internet access even in areas where conventional inflight Wi-Fi often fails, such as over oceans and remote landscapes.

“We invest in product upgrades based on customer feedback, and they have been asking for the best in-flight connectivity options,” said Brian Rohloff, Senior Vice President of Customer Support at Textron. “We continue to expand our list of connectivity upgrades available for our customers.”

Textron confirmed that the Starlink system can be installed at its authorized service centers across North America, as well as select international locations. The company did not disclose pricing or installation timelines, but emphasized that the upgrade was now officially available to current and future owners of Cessna Citation Sovereign jets.

This move follows broader industry adoption of Starlink Wi-Fi across the aviation sector. Major commercial airlines such as United Airlines, WestJet, Air France, and Qatar Airways have already embraced Starlink to improve inflight connectivity. On the same day as Textron’s announcement, Qatar Airways confirmed that all 54 of its Boeing 777 aircraft had been outfitted with Starlink Wi-Fi, which is being offered to passengers at no additional cost.

With business and commercial aviation both turning to Starlink to meet rising passenger expectations, this latest development underscores the growing importance of reliable, high-speed inflight internet access across all segments of air travel.
